Baby O

Last week I had the opportunity to photograph this lovely lady at her home snuggled up with mom and dad. In home newborn sessions hold a special place in my heart. It’s such an honor to be trusted to enter someone’s home and document the way they are caring for the newest member of their family, capturing the chaos, sheer exhaustion, excitement and beauty of this special time in life. Mom and Dad are doing a beautiful job.

Baby #3 Maternity Session

Maternity sessions with little kiddos included are such a blast. I love the variety of images created, that bonding experience between the siblings (maybe it’s just their mutual wariness of the camera, although we played enough fun games for them to forget about it), and creating and preserving memories for them for years to come. Bonus: we were lucky enough for a gorgeous summer sunset to add some magic to the images.

Sunrise Family Session

Everyone loves those golden, glowy sunset photos, except that I don’t know many kiddos who can stay up for that magic hour without falling apart. Enter sunrise sessions. These guys are one of my favorite families to photograph, and have been allowing me to create memories for them for several years. We always go for morning sessions and the kids are happy, the light is pretty, and it’s a win for everyone.

Columbus Babywearing Minis

For the last several years I have volunteered my services to raise money for the Columbus Babywearing group by hosting fundraising mini-sessions. This year things worked out a little differently due to covid, but I was still able to host a few families in my backyard studio who are members of the group. Got some great shots of them snuggling their babes!

Returning to photography

It’s been a whirlwind of a summer. I went from fearing I would never photograph families again to having a completely booked summer. I am beyond thankful to the families who have trusted me with their memories, children, and safety. I think times of crisis remind us how fleeting and precious life is, and we want to hold on to these moments as tightly as possible. Here are a few photos from a session I did one lovely morning in June at Jeffrey Mansion.

SEE Studio Front Steps Project

*****UPDATE: After a month of fundraising I am ending my front steps project. Thank you so much to all who have participated – together we have raised nearly $2000 for the Columbus arts community, well beyond my initial goal of $1000!!***** I’m so excited to announce that SEE Studio Photography will be raising money for Columbus-based artists whose incomes and lives have been negatively affected by COVID-19 by offering “Front Steps” mini photography sessions. I’ve been feeling so limited in my ability to help others during this crisis and wondering how I could safely lessen the burden of others while…

Vineyards at Pine Lake Wedding

I may be biased because he is my youngest brother, but recently I photographed one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever been to. It was a lovely August day and the ceremony took place next to a lake nestled in between rollings hills and rows of grapes being grown for the venue’s winery. I had a lovely time spending the afternoon with my future sister-in-law while she and her girls got ready, photographing the gorgeous ceremony, and dancing the evening away with the flower girls afterwards.

Historic Granville Wedding

I love quaint little towns with character and small, intimate weddings with equal character so I was thrilled when a friend asked me to capture her and her loved ones for her wedding in historic Granville, Ohio. The ceremony took place at the Buxton Inn and we also snuck over to the grounds at the Granville Inn across the street for some photos. It was one of those gloomy, chilly summer days that can feel romantic in the right setting, with just a sprinkle of rain for good luck.
