*****UPDATE: After a month of fundraising I am ending my front steps project. Thank you so much to all who have participated – together we have raised nearly $2000 for the Columbus arts community, well beyond my initial goal of $1000!!***** I’m so excited to announce that SEE Studio Photography will be raising money for Columbus-based artists whose incomes and lives have been negatively affected by COVID-19 by offering “Front Steps” mini photography sessions. I’ve been feeling so limited in my ability to help others during this crisis and wondering how I could safely lessen the burden of others while…
A recap of 2019.
I may be biased because he is my youngest brother, but recently I photographed one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever been to. It was a lovely August day and the ceremony took place next to a lake nestled in between rollings hills and rows of grapes being grown for the venue’s winery. I had a lovely time spending the afternoon with my future sister-in-law while she and her girls got ready, photographing the gorgeous ceremony, and dancing the evening away with the flower girls afterwards.
I love quaint little towns with character and small, intimate weddings with equal character so I was thrilled when a friend asked me to capture her and her loved ones for her wedding in historic Granville, Ohio. The ceremony took place at the Buxton Inn and we also snuck over to the grounds at the Granville Inn across the street for some photos. It was one of those gloomy, chilly summer days that can feel romantic in the right setting, with just a sprinkle of rain for good luck.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph one of my favorite families just before and immediately after the birth of their third child. It’s amazing how much life slows down (briefly) after baby’s arrival. Each day is a blessing and one to be taken slowly, with little or no agenda. They asked me to visit one morning and capture the raw moments of life with a new little one.
Actually it’s nearly summer, but I have been so busy editing that I haven’t had a moment to post some images from my spring mini-sessions at Franklin Park Conservatory. I love seeing my repeat clients’ families growing and maturing during mini-session season, and it challenges me to do something new and creative for them each year. Here’s a sample of my favorite images.
One of my goals for 2019 is to start booking more weddings.
My daughter’s new favorite toy is the Nutcracker musical snow globe she got from her grandparents for Christmas
Winter is one of my favorite seasons for photographing
