“Home” school portraits

With so many children (and parents – let’s face it, these are for us) missing the opportunity for school portraits this year I thought it would be fun to offer “home” school portrait sessions instead. These will take place Sunday, April 11th outside my home in Worthington. The setup will be identical to the above images, with the focus on your child and his or her personality, and will take 5-10 minutes depending on how quickly your child opens up to me. I can be pretty silly so that typically doesn’t take long. Interested in signing up? Here are the details:

PERSONALITY PORTRAITS

Sunday April 11th between 2-5pm. $80 for single child, $60 for each sibling. Includes an online gallery of three digital images per child in both color and black and white, a print release, option to order prints directly from the gallery, and a $25 gift certificate for a family session with SEE Studio in 2021. Session fees are due at the time of booking in order to hold your spot. Contact me to book.

COVID-19

Portraits will be taken outdoors. I will technically have the studio set up in the garage in case of inclement weather but we will be at the edge of the garage with the doors wide open. I will wear a mask and practice social distancing. I will ask that all groups waiting remain outside the garage in the car, drive or front lawn. Children can either stand or sit for their portrait. If sitting I will sanitize the seat prior to use.

Winter session

winter family photography session in hilliard ohio

I love the colors of winter and was delighted to take a few family portraits of this mama with her two daughters at a small park in Hilliard, Ohio. Winters around Columbus can often be dark and dreary but when the sun comes out I love to head to the meadows leftover from summer. The dead grasses and flowers look golden in the setting sun and add so much warmth to the images, even though we were all freezing our butts off! But the cold air just gave them another excuse to get snuggly.

Wren Farm – fall WEDDING in ohio

Being that it’s 2020 this was a quiet year for weddings for me, but I did have the pleasure of photographing a beautiful rustic wedding at Wren Farm in Mechanicsburg just outside of Columbus, Ohio. I was extra-excited because this was a Halloween wedding and the full moon was out in all it’s glory. Wren Farm is located out in the country and is surrounded by fields which set the scene for the most spectacular sunset. The reception area is set inside of a huge barn with plenty of doors and windows for lovely natural light and fresh air to flow through. My favorite part of the barn is the staircase leading up to the loft – there’s a huge window facing the landing of the stairs which made for some dramatic lighting and unusual perspectives, as I’ll show below. I hope I have a chance to come back here in the future for another celebration!

Magnolia Trees

family photography in columbus oh

Back in March of 2020 when everything shut down due to the pandemic, I wanted to take a moment to document my family and our love for one another. I was scared, there was so much we didn’t know about the virus, and I worried that something could happen that would alter us forever. I never thought that 9 months later we’d still be carrying the burden of the virus, but here we are. We have been so lucky to remain healthy, but I am glad I took a moment to capture us and the beauty all around us.

Baby “O”

newborn photography session in columbus oh

Last week I had the opportunity to photograph this lovely lady at her home snuggled up with mom and dad. In home newborn sessions hold a special place in my heart. It’s such an honor to be trusted to enter someone’s home and document the way they are caring for the newest member of their family, capturing the chaos, sheer exhaustion, excitement and beauty of this special time in life. Mom and Dad are doing a beautiful job.

Maternity photography Session in columbus oh

Maternity sessions with little kiddos included are such a blast. I love the variety of images created, that bonding experience between the siblings (maybe it’s just their mutual wariness of the camera, although we played enough fun games for them to forget about it), and creating and preserving memories for them for years to come. Bonus: we were lucky enough for a gorgeous summer sunset to add some magic to the images.

Creekside Maternity Session

So… I LOVE maternity sessions. And I love playing in water. So I was delighted when this adventurous couple agreed to get in the creek with me for some fun maternity photos and the feeding of my creative soul! We met at Creekside in Gahanna, Ohio, which is a fantastic location if you want a variety of landscaped areas plus the “wilderness” of the river.

Down to the river to play

Sometimes I need to create wholly for myself, free from an agenda or specific expectations. So I was delighted when a fellow photog friend suggested we head down to the river for some wet, messy creekin’ shots. We met first thing in the morning hoping for a beautiful sunrise, but we were greeted with a dark and drizzly day. It ended up being perfect for capturing the mood. As much as I love that golden hour glow, I find the mood that shadows and contrast create is equally beautiful. See for yourself.

Maine Wedding

We are coming up on the one year anniversary of this wedding I photographed for a beloved friend up in Maine. That’s life with two preschoolers for you. The difference between September 2019 and September 2020 is stark…our old life is almost unrecognizable. But I wanted to get these up before any more time passes. Happy anniversary to the Ludver Clan.
